
Today I had a chance to reflect on my inner being and recognize what it takes for me to be capable of managing my emotions with mindfulness, self-compassion, and understanding. After years of trial and error, I now understand that recognizing feelings when they arise is one of the most important steps in developing how I approach them. It starts by becoming aware of thoughts that might bring up an emotion and addressing it with empathy instead of resistance or avoidance.
The next step is using self-compassion as an anchor for acceptance rather than judgment or criticism. Being gentle on myself allows me to accept whatever state comes up without struggling against it so much; this has helped me gain insight into why certain triggers have such a powerful affect on my emotional well-being. Finally, applying empathy towards other people’s perspectives helps widen the capacity in which I can understand feelings from different angles thus allowing greater compassion within myself too – creating an interconnectedness between things frequently dismissed as complicated or unknown yet connected at the same time.
There are still moments when anxiety does take over but having a conscious approach feels like working through heavy fog – knowing eventually there will be some sort clarity if you persistently pay attention along your journey back home again. Feeling better about myself never felt
