As I move through my practice, I am aware of not just the physical but also emotional and mental states as they arise. My breath is a constant reminder to stay present. As I focus on each step or stretch, all else begins to fade away until there’s only me and my body in the moment. With each pose or movement layering one upon another, I begin to feel a sense of connection with myself that can be found nowhere else.
I become conscious that the way we move in the world affects how we interact with ourselves internally and externally; when we shift our attention to being fully present for what’s happening within us, it becomes easier for us to connect more deeply with emotions and sensations that have been lying dormant beneath the surface.
The sounds around me take on new meaning: birds chirping outside as if singing along, slow gentle music playing from somewhere far off like an old friend who knows exactly what is needed at any given moment – it seems like everything has come together this day just so that I can find peace amongst life’s chaos for a few moments here and now.
Slowly emerging from this space back into reality brings about joyous wonderment at the beauty of life –
