Today I am taking an hour to practice some of my favorite self-care activities. Firstly, I will take a hot shower and use aromatherapy baths salts to help me relax and be mindful of the present moment. After that, I plan on spending time with my journal reflecting on how far I have come in working towards achieving my goals as well as writing about what is currently happening in my life.
Next, it’s time for yoga! My yoga practice helps me stay connected with the inner workings of my body and calms any anxious energies that may stir up throughout the day. As part of this sequence, I always make sure to include plenty of stretching poses which are incredibly nourishing for muscles tissues and joints in need after a long week or month at work or school.
Now it’s time to treat myself! This usually involves eating something sweet like dark chocolate (as dark as possible) while also hydrating with lots of water throughout the afternoon. The combination provides enough energy so that I can focus later when completing any tasks while still being able to fully enjoy every bite by savoring the flavor and texture before each swallow is taken down into my stomach.
